Family Dentistry
Napoleon Dental Care offers dentistry for the entire family. We understand that adults & children have different needs & we address them all. Adults want the best technology, the most informed doctors & the highest-quality care, while kids want to be comfortable & respected. That’s why our dentists have extensive experience working with both adults & children. We can make your dental experience more enjoyable for everyone.
Preventive Dentistry
This includes our regular dental hygiene visits, sealants, mouthguards & patient/parent education. We place a high emphasis on sealants, which are effective in preventing tooth decay on the biting surfaces of chewing teeth. This plastic coating, which is clear or tooth-colored, is applied to deep pits & grooves. This seals them in the areas where decay is most likely to begin. At less than half the cost of conventional fillings, without anesthetics or drilling, sealants are one of the most important preventive services we have.
Periodontics
Periodontal (gum) disease can lead to more than just an unsightly smile – it can cause loss of teeth & eventually, if left untreated, serious health problems. Called gingivitis in its early stages, periodontal disease is caused by excessive toxic bacteria (found in plaque) that attack your mouth’s soft tissues. Early warning signs of this disease include red, swollen, bleeding gums. If caught early, we can help you reverse the damage. If detected late, we can use one of the many effective cosmetic dentistry procedures to restore your mouth to a healthy, beautiful state. Let our doctors help you keep your teeth & gums strong & disease-free with regular examinations & cleanings.
Oral Cancer Screening
Early detection is key in the battle against cancer, & this is no different with oral cancer. Even if you don’t smoke, keep in mind that 25% of oral-cancer diagnoses are for non-smokers. It’s important that every patient receive a simple & pain-free oral cancer exam from Dr. Hill at every regular dental hygiene visit. Remember that when caught early, oral cancer has an 80 to 90% survival rate. So don’t put off your examination another minute! It’s affordable, painless & could save your life.
Mercury-Free Dentistry
We understand your concerns regarding the use of mercury fillings. Accordingly, at our office we have elected to use only the new advanced fillings made of tooth-colored materials that contain no metals or mercury as an alternative to traditional silver fillings.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Are you aware that the days when tooth ailments & cavities could only be treated with unsightly metal fillings are gone? Today, modern, tooth-colored fillings made of durable resin or porcelain can be bonded to your teeth for a stronger, more natural-looking effect. These revolutionary fillings are virtually undetectable & are easy to apply.
Root Canal Therapy
Did you know that each tooth contains a long, thin strand of dental pulp that extends through the tooth's root & provides the tooth with nutrients & nerve? If the pulp becomes infected or injured & the nerves die the tooth might have to be removed. Root canals are designed to save such damaged teeth. During the procedure (after the tooth is numb), the diseased pulp is removed & the tooth is permanently sealed with a porcelain or tooth-colored crown. We are happy to provide single-appointment root canal therapy for you.
Endodontic Therapy
With advanced & surprisingly comfortable endodontic therapy you have an alternative to tooth removal whereby you’ll retain full use of your natural teeth. Endodontic therapy involves the removal of tissue from inside the tooth that has been damaged by trauma or infected by decay. After the pulp is removed, the pulp chamber & root canal system is cleaned, disinfected & sealed. Once a root canal is completed, two other procedures are generally needed to complete the restoration of the tooth. These are done by the general dentist.
Digital X-Rays
We offer in-office digital x-rays for your convenience. Digital x-rays are computer-generated images. These images require up to 90% less radiation than with conventional film-type x-rays. Instead of using the traditional silver-oxide x-ray film that must be developed & then fixed in caustic & environmentally damaging solutions, the new system takes pictures via a small electronic sensor & instantaneously transmits a picture of the tooth onto the video monitor in the treatment room. Therefore, we can see your teeth & surrounding structures immediately. Feel free to contact us for more details or to make an appointment!
